Ethernet Configuration Tab

There are three sections in the Ethernet Configuration tab:

  1. In the top window, you can choose to associate a specific device driver with the device port that you have selected in the IP Link® Tree window.

  2. The bottom, left window allows you to configure the control buttons that are displayed in the
    GlobalViewer® interface for the currently selected device.

  3. The bottom, right window allows you to enter specific information that you wish to be displayed in the GlobalViewer Info window for the currently selected device.

Choosing a device driver

To choose a device driver:

  1. Select an Ethernet port in the IP Link Tree window.

  2. Select the Ethernet Configuration tab.

  3. Select a device type.

  4. Select a manufacturer.

  5. Select a version filter.

  6. In the Available Driver section, select an available device driver.

  7. Click Add Driver.

The selected device driver is displayed in the Added Driver field, and in the IP Link Tree window.

GlobalViewer® control buttons

When a device driver is selected as described above, the GlobalViewer Driver Command and State Configuration window (lower left corner of the Ethernet Configuration tab) is populated with the control buttons that will be displayed for this device in the GlobalViewer interface.

In the Driver Command and State Configuration window you can:

  1. De-activate or re-activate the buttons and functions by clicking on their respective checkboxes.

  2. Change the function name by selecting the function, then clicking on the pencil icon at the top, right corner, or by right-clicking over a function name and selecting Rename.

  3. Change the vertical positions of the functions by highlighting a  function and using the green up/down arrows to move the selected function up or down in the tree.

Note:   Before changes are viewable in GlobalViewer, you must perform the build and upload process in Global Configurator.

To view the Buttons in the GlobalViewer Web page:

  1. Right click the GlobalViewer host device in the IP Link Tree window.

  2. Select Open GlobalViewer Webpage.

The GlobalViewer Web page opens.

  1. Expand the GlobalViewer tree in the left pane.

  2. Select the desired device.

The device's control buttons are displayed in the right pane.  These buttons will match the selections made in the Driver Command and State Configuration window.

GlobalViewer® Info window

In the lower right corner of the Ethernet Configuration tab is the GlobalViewer® Info window.  Here you can enter relevant information about the selected device that will appear in the Info tab of GlobalViewer.

To add information:

  1. Select an Ethernet port in the IP Link Tree window.

  2. Enter a unique label name.

  3. Enter the label description.

  4. Click the Add button.

The label and description information is displayed in the GlobalViewer Info window and in the GlobalViewer Web Page Info tab.

To view the added information in the GlobalViewer Web page:

  1. Right-click the GlobalViewer host device in the IP Link Tree window.

  2. Select Open GlobalViewer Webpage.

The GlobalViewer Web page opens.

  1. Expand the GlobalViewer tree in the left pane (click the + sign).

  2. Select the desired device.

  3. Click the Info tab at the top of the right window pane.

The added information is now displayed at the bottom of the Info screen.

Edit Max Lamp Hours

On the GlobalViewer Video Projector Type summary page is a Lamp Usage bar graph indicator.  When a device driver is installed for a video projector, it provides the Max value to be used by the bar graph.

The Edit Max Lamp Hours button opens a dialog box that allows you to adjust the Max value in the bar graph.

To change the Lamp Usage Max value:

  1. Click the Edit Max Lamp Hours button.

  2. Enter the desired maximum lamp hours.

  3. Click OK.
