Application Settings

Use the Application Settings screen to:

• Make selections about confirmation and warning dialogs in the current Global Configurator project file.

• Select the default GlobalViewer® Project Skin.

• Set Proxy Server.

Application Settings

To open the Application Settings screen:

1. From the Edit menu, select Application Settings.

Confirmation and Warning Dialog Selections

Select the desired check boxes in the Application Settings screen to turn on confirmation and warning dialog boxes.  Deselect the desired check boxes to turn off the dialog boxes.

Note:  Global Configurator has an auto-save feature that automatically saves the GC project, depending on the specified timer.  The auto-save timer can be changed or disabled using the Application Settings option on the Edit menu.  

To enable the auto-save timer:

1. From the Edit menu, select Application Settings.  The Application Settings screen opens.

2. Select the Enable Project AutoSave timer (1 - 120 minutes) check box.

3. Select the desired time for Global Configurator to automatically save your GC project.  This value can be from 1 to 120 minutes.

4. Click OK.

GlobalViewer Project Skin

Use the Default Skin for New Projects drop-down list to change the look and feel of the GlobalViewer interface.

The options on the drop-down list include:

• Blue chrome (shown at right)

• Blue Carbon

• Classic Extron Blue

• Gray Basic

• Green Gel Tabs

• Metal

• Splash Down Blue

• Steel Gauges

• Wood Finish

Set Proxy Server

Some networks are protected by a proxy server whose function is to:

• Protect the network from intrusion

• Filter downloaded Internet content

• Cache website

If the network on which you are installing Global Configurator has a proxy server, you can click the Set Proxy Server button on the Application Settings screen to launch the Proxy Server Specification dialog box (see below).

Proxy Server Specification

The proxy server options are:

• None – (Default) Select this option when no proxy server exists on the network.

• Use the Following Proxy Server – Enter the host name or IP address of the proxy server on your network.

• Use the Proxy Server Specified in Internet Explorer® – Select this option if your Internet Explorer application has been configured with a proxy server specification.
