Setting Button OperationsThe tabs in the Button Operations section include: The functions of each tab are described in the subsections below. Before you begin to configure a button, be sure to select the correct room mode. Two room modes (Room Mode 1 and Room Mode 2) are available when you configure buttons in a touchpanel layout. This allows you to have separate button configurations for each mode. For example, if you add a function to a button in Room Mode 1, it will not appear in the press or release actions of Room Mode 2 and vice versa. Button actions are not deleted when you switch room modes. To select a room mode:

in the Button Operations section are selected and moved to the Press section

section, the function occurs
when the selected button is pressed (either on the physical front control panel
of the device or in the GlobalViewer interface). If

RelayThe Relay tab in the Button Operations section gives you the ability to add relay-driven functions to a selected button. To add a button function using the Relay tab:
- or - Select the desired relay function and click one of the two Right Arrows to move the selected relay function to the respective Press or Release section. |
Time DelayWhen you add multiple functions to a button, you can insert a time delay between the functions. The Time Delay tab provides the capability to add a delay period ranging from 1 second to 180 seconds to the Press or Release action of a button. To add a time delay:

Touch PanelThe Touch Panel tab in the Button Operations section allows you to add local functions for the touchpanel layout such as showing a page, hiding a popup, and locking the panel. To add a button function using the Touch Panel tab:

User-DefinedThe User-Defined
tab in the Button Operations section allows you to add button functionality
that is not predefined by entering ASCII strings or Extron Simple Instruction

State ControlThe State Control tab in the Button Operations section allows you to add state control to a selected button. You can set a selected button to a certain control state. To set a button to a specified control state:

Single SwitchIn Single Switch mode, the button performs the same primary function each time it is pressed. This mode is the factory default state and is the opposite of Toggle mode, which is described below. |
ToggleIn Toggle mode, you can assign two different actions to subsequent depressions of the same button. If you apply Toggle mode, the initial press causes one action and the next press causes a second action to occur. To create a Toggle mode button:

Clearing, Resetting, and Auto-filling Button CaptionsThe Clear button on the Button Properties tab in the Touch Panel section clears all of the button caption text. The Reset button returns button operations to their factory default. The Clear and Reset buttons have drop-down list options. You can select This Button or All Buttons On This Page. The Auto Fill button configures all buttons with predetermined button operations as defined by the associated device driver. See the Clearing, Resetting, and Auto-filling Button Labels subsection of "Control Module Summary" for more information. |
