Setting Button Operations

The tabs in the Button Operations section include:

The functions of each tab are described in the subsections below.

Before you begin to configure a button, be sure to select the correct room mode.

Two room modes (Room Mode 1 and Room Mode 2) are available when you configure buttons in a touchpanel layout.  This allows you to have separate button configurations for each mode.  For example, if you add a function to a button in Room Mode 1, it will not appear in the press or release actions of Room Mode 2 and vice versa.  Button actions are not deleted when you switch room modes.

To select a room mode:

  1. In the Touch Panel section of the Panel Button Configuration tab, select the Room Mode 1 or Room Mode 2 radio button depending on the desired mode. This clears any functions from the Press and Release sections that you may have added in the unselected room mode.

  2. Configure buttons in the layout as described in the subsections below.

Notes:   Functions in the Button Operations section are selected and moved to the Press section or Release section to be assigned to a button.  If a function is moved to the Press section, the function occurs when the selected button is pressed (either on the physical front control panel of the device or in the GlobalViewer interface).  If a function is moved to the Release section, the function occurs as the button is released.

Changes to the GC file do not appear in the GlobalViewer interface until the GC file has been built and uploaded to the network devices.
