New

The New function is used to:

• Start a new Global Configurator project.

• Open an existing Global Configurator project.

• View the Global Configurator help file.

• Import a project configuration from an existing Global Configurator project.

Creating a New Project

To start a new Global Configurator project file:

1. From the File menu, select New.  The Global Configurator Start Options dialog box opens.

2. Select Create A New Project.

3. Click OK.  The Project Settings screen opens.  

The Project Settings screen sets all of the default values for the fields in the Add Device screen.

Example

If you enter a default administrator password in the Project Settings screen, the value appears in the Admin Password field of the Add Device screen when it is opened.

If you leave the Default Admin Password field blank in the Project Settings screen, the Admin Password field will be blank when you open the Add Device screen.

4. Make the desired selections in the Project Settings screen.  The following options are on the IP tab.

5. Click OK.  The Add Device screen opens and prompts you to add the first AV network device (see the Add Device section).
