Extron MPA 401-100V ENERGY STAR® Qualified Power Amplifier Now Shipping
Anaheim, California (March 1, 2011) - Extron Electronics is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the MPA 401-100V, a convection-cooled mono amplifier that delivers 40 watts rms for 100 volt distributed speaker systems in classrooms, training rooms, and multi-purpose rooms. The MPA 401-100V is an ENERGY STAR® qualified and UL verified amplifier with an Extron exclusive, highly efficient, advanced Class D amplifier design. It also features patented CDRS™ - Class D Ripple Suppression technology that provides a smooth, clean audio waveform and an improvement in signal fidelity over conventional Class D amplifiers. An Extron exclusive, high efficiency design generates very little heat and allows the amplifier to be convection cooled and operate in environments with little or no ventilation.
"The MPA 401-100V is an extremely versatile power amplifier that consumes little energy, runs cool, and is ideal for very compact equipment installation requirements, such as above a projector," says Rainer Stiehl, Extron Vice President of Marketing, EMEA. "We are pleased to have this new 100 volt version available for commercial installations worldwide."
The MPA 401-100V ENERGY STAR qualified and UL verified amplifier is an energy efficient product that conserves energy and reduces costs. With an auto power-down feature that automatically places the amplifier into standby after 25 minutes of inactivity, it consumes just 8 watts when idle and less than 1 watt in standby mode.
The MPA 401-100V accepts balanced and unbalanced stereo or mono input signals. The front panel includes detented controls for bass, treble, and input level. The MPA 401-100V combines the left and right channels into a single mono output. An advanced, automatic clip limiter protects speakers from clipping distortion. Additionally, the MPA 401-100V is UL 2043 plenum rated, allowing for installation within a plenum airspace above a drop ceiling.
