Extron Introduces VTG 300R Rechargeable Handheld Video and Audio Test Generator

Anaheim, California (June 9, 2004) – Extron Electronics introduces the VTG 300R, a broadcast quality video and audio test generator, now with an integrated rechargeable battery and charger.

This simple-to-use, compact reference tool provides accurate video signal reproduction for high resolution computer-video, plasma, HDTV, and 16:9 scan rates as RGB or component video, as well as NTSC or PAL rates as component video, S-video, and composite video. The VTG 300R features 13 video test patterns and 34 video scan rates, and generates six audio test signals for optimum audio and video system alignment, calibration, and signal reproduction. "The VTG 300R increases the portability and usability of the VTG 300 for field applications," says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. "With full-featured audio and video testing in a rechargeable, handheld unit, the VTG 300R is a must for every technician's toolkit." The VTG 300R features three additional factory programmed scan rates previously not available with the VTG 300. The VTG 300R and VTG 300 now include the following scan rates: 1080p/24sF at 48 Hz for HDTV, 1280 x 768 at 60 Hz and 1366 x 768 at 60 Hz for 16:9 aspect ratio displays. Both models also feature new video test patterns: ramp, 80% window, and 20% window. The audio tone generator for both models produces six audio test signals: frequency sweep, pink noise, white noise, sine waves, square waves, and a polarity test waveform. When fully charged, the VTG 300R can operate continuously for approximately five hours. Using the integrated charger, the VTG 300R can fully recharge in eight hours or operate with the included external international power supply. List price for the VTG 300R is $1,125.00.
